Where the Men Hangout: Eason to Nauta Touchdown
Jacob Eason and Isaac Nauta have a close relationship on and off the field. Georgia fans got to witness a full season of that while they were both freshmen.
This call, unfortunately, came from the loss to Tennessee in 2016 but it’s still a good one. Yeah the dreaded Hail Mary game, but stay with me because once you hear the call, you’ll see why I chose it.
It was the third quarter, and Georgia had a 17-14 lead as Eason, and the offense took the field. The offense only needed three plays for this gem to happen.
Brian Herrien got five yards on the first play, Eason completed a pass to Javon Wims for eight yards for the second play, and as for the third play that drive, I’ll let Howard tell you.
“Dawgs bring Wims to the near sideline this time. Play fake to Herrien, Eason sets up in the pocket, throws, Nauta right down the middle, Nauta 20-15-10-5-get there, Yea Touchdown into the endzone, that’s where the men hang out! Isaac Nauta with the score!”
This touchdown was Isaac Nauta’s first career touchdown as a Dawg and boy was it a beauty. I’m not sure what prompted Howard to let out ‘that’s where the men hang out,’ but it worked.
It showed just the beginning of the talent Georgia had at the tight end position, with Nauta.
