Georgia football added its fifth commitment for June on Friday. The Dawgs recruiting train is hot and their not finished yet.

Georgia football added Corey Wren to its 2020 class on June 21 giving the Bulldogs its fifth commit for June.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Wren ranks as the No. 35 ATH and the No. 23 prospect in Louisianna.

He is a 5-9 170-pound athlete from John Curtis High School in New Orleans, La.

Wren’s pledge is the second of the week after Marcus Rosemy committed to the Dawgs earlier.

It came down to Georgia and Houston for Wren’s final two. He took his official visit to Houston on June 14 and was in the Classic City during the scavenger hunt weekend. Wren also took official visits to Arizona State on June 8 and TCU on April 12.

He made his announcement on Twitter with a cool graphic.

Georgia’s getting something special with Wren. After losing Mecole Hardman to the NFL Draft, the Dawgs needed someone with this kind of speed.

According to 247Sports, Wren is a two-time Division 1 Louisiana indoor 60-meter champion. He also has multiple junior season 100-meter times in the 10.4 zone.

Wren also toted the rock 82 times for 886 yards and ten touchdowns in his junior season as well. However, that won’t be the case at Georgia. He will likely be the slot receiver, kick return, punt return guy that Hardman and Isaiah Mckenzie did for the Dawgs.

I like Wren a lot and think that if he continues to play at the level he is, then that fourth star will come. However, sometimes you cannot care about the stars; one must look at what the player brings to the table.

Wren is crazy fast and knows how to use that speed to his advantage. He sees the field well and knows where his holes are. I’m excited to see Hankton get a hold of him and turn him into a slot guy along with him returning punts and kicks.

With his speed and intelligence on the field, we could very well see some punt and kick returns go all the way.

With Wren, Georgia now has 14 commits for the 2020 class after Akinola Ogunbiyi flipped from the Dawgs to Texas A&M on June 23. The Bulldogs have the No. 4 overall and No. 3 class in the SEC.
