Georgia football is known as running back university because the Dawgs always seem to have a stable full of running backs. How do the backs look for 2019? We jump on with Mark Rogers and discuss it.
Georgia football always seems to have a star running back each year, and 2019 is no different.
The Bulldogs lost Elijah Holyfield to the NFL Draft after last season, and while it stings to lose a 1,000-yard rusher, the Bulldogs will be just fine.
D’Andre Swift returns for his junior season after toting it 163 times for 1,049 yards, ten touchdowns while averaging 6.4 yards a carry. He also had 32 catches for 297 yards and three touchdowns.
James Cook also returns for his sophomore campaign after carrying it 41 times for 284 yards and two scores.

The Dawgs also have Brian Herrien, who will be a senior this season.
After doing his time at Georgia, he’s finally in an opportunity to be in the spotlight.
Last season he toted the rock 50 times for 295 yards and three scores. Herrien also had eight catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.
Zamir “Zeus” White should return after suffering another ACL injury during spring ball last year.
Georgia picked up Kenny McIntosh in its 2019 class as well.
We could see action from every single one of those guys this season. While I think White will eventually be Swift’s counterpart, it’ll take him some time to get back in shape, learn to retake a hit and get over it mentally. Nick Chubb did it, and we should see the same from White.
Swift is finally 100 percent healthy. After battling a groin injury on and off last season, he still managed to get over 1,000 yards and be a force for the Dawgs. Now he’s healthy, can you imagine what he can do healthy? I know I can.
The hope is that White can make an impact this season. However, it may take longer. I also think with the weight that Cook’s added, he could get a lot of significant snaps this year.
Cook could explode and be better than his brother this year, and that’s what I hope happens.
At the same time, Swift is going to get most of the snaps, and I think it’s his year to shine. McIntosh could also see the field as a special teams guy this year as well or catching balls out of this backfield.
Georgia’s got plenty of talent at the running back position, and we’re going to see it shine this season. Hope you enjoyed the segment with Rogers.
