In recent years, Georgia football keeps recruiting silent, but great guys. You know, guys like Andrew Thomas. Now the Dawgs have another one in the 2020 class.
Georgia football has two five-stars in its 2020 recruiting class right now. While Mekhail Sherman is a humble and grateful kid, this article is all about Broderick Jones and what he brings to this class.
Jones is a 5-star offensive tackle from Lithonia, Georgia. He is 6-5 and 275 pounds. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 20 overall, the No. 2 OT and the No. 3 prospect in Georgia.
When people see 5-star, a lot of times that means tons of offers because he’s that good and everyone wants him.
Well, Jones only holds four offers. Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, and Tennessee all offered him to play football.

He committed to Georgia on April 26, 2018, and doesn’t seem interested in any other schools.
To my knowledge, when he committed, Jones shut it all down and is 100 percent committed to the Dawgs.
Jones is so good, like crazy good. He’s tall and long and can hold his weight perfectly.
While he does need to improve some on his balance and technique, Jones can be taught that, and we all know how good Sam Pittman is at developing players.
He’s big enough to join Pittman’s bullies and could even push his way up through the mountain of talent already there. With the right development, Jones will be a starting lineman for the Dawgs
He has incredible on the field talent, but at the same time he is a quiet guy that you don’t hear a whole lot out of, and I’m not complaining about it.
Jones is as loyal as they come to his commitment with the Dawgs.
I don’t see him taking other visits, and I think his recruitment is 100 percent shut down, and it’s going to be Georgia paperwork he signs his letter of intent to in December.
He reminds me a lot of Andrew Thomas and his recruiting cycle. Thomas was quiet and silently recruited guys to come to Georgia. I feel the same vibe from Jones and think he is heavily recruiting for Georgia; we’re just not seeing it.
Jones is one of a few in the 2020 class that Georgia football has that are recruiting for the coaches. These players are working the camp scene right now, and the Dawgs could get a few more pledges before the season starts.
