Georgia football’s most anticipated player for 2019 will be Zamir White. After suffering injury last season and rehabbing two ACL injuries, the running back looks hungry.
Zamir White could be Georgia football’s secret weapon in 2019.
Despite suffering two ACL injuries last year, he has rehabbed and worked with Georgia’s sports medicine trainers and holy crap does he look healthy.
Back in May, a video of him and D’Andre Swift running through some drills as well. The two were in the ‘House of Payne’ working on various running back stuff.
At the Macon Bulldog Caravan meeting back in May, head coach Kirby Smart updated his progress.
"“He will be past the time to come back (when camp begins),” Smart said in a 247Sports interview. “He will be cleared for that. Obviously, he’s got to be cleared through the protocol, testing, go see the doctors and get cleared. But based on ACL repair, he will be past the time for that.”"
Smart went onto say that White’s still rehabbing with the sports medicine team.
"“Everything’s been good,” Smart said to 247Sports. “He’s rehabbing with Ron. Ron sends me video of him running, him doing things but it’s all the things you guys have seen so it’s not like I’m getting things I haven’t seen before. In spring, he ran, he cut, he caught the ball, he did things, he just didn’t have contact and he’s not going to have contact until fall camp. But as far as his attitude, his strength, all his testing, he’s right where he should be and doing what he should do.”"
He posted a video to his Instagram which made its way to Twitter on July 11.
I know I’ve watched this video at least 15 times. White is working in the sand with two footballs and making cuts, spins, any kind of motion he wants on those knees.

This video far more impressive than the one from May and makes me far happier because it’s incredibly hard to run in the sand much less make cuts and spins in it.
While White still has yet to publically take a hit, these videos must give Georgia fans extreme hope that he can defy the mental odds and be ready to go sooner than later.
I think it’s going to take a few games to get him comfortable getting hit again. However, we will get a better look at this in fall camp.
With Swift, James Cook, Brian Herrien, and Kenny McIntosh, one probably thinks that you don’t necessarily need White to come back as soon as possible.
However, I think it would benfit the Dawgs more if he did. Swift and White would be two bulldozers that would make opponents quiver in fear.
We’ve seen a glimpse of what Swift can do, and we don’t know what White can do outside of his impressive high school career. At the same time, I feel more confident in this running game than I did with other running back duos in the past.
I’m thinking Georgia could have two running backs go over 1,000 yards for the third year in a row.
This video should give Dawg fans chills and make them even more excited for football season becuase holy cow does he look like he’s on a mission.
Shortly after the video got to Twitter, White tweeted the most simple thing in response the video, and it was perfect.
He posted this with the hourglass emoji, and that gives me chills right away. That emoji means it’s only a matter of time before he arrives.
Swift’s already getting Heisman buzz for 2019, and now the Dawgs have White hungry to get on the field. 2019 could get interesting.
Georgia fans need to get ready for a running back performance like no other. Between White, Swift, Herrien, Cook, and McIntosh, Dawg fans are going to see some incredible runs.
We must thank Sam Pittman and his offensive linemen because without them these backs would have to work twice as hard.
The Bulldogs have a weapon and that’s Zamir White and he’s coming back with vengence and show the world he is one of the best running backs in all of college football.
It’s July and while I believe everyone’s counting down the days till the first game, I’m excited for August 1 for day 1 of fall camp for the Dawgs.
Football season’s almost here yall, and Georgia might have the key to winning it all.
