Georgia football has some of the best traditions in all of college football. We decided to take a look at them and give the top five things to do on a Saturday between the hedges.
The words tradition and Georgia football go hand-and-hand together. To be honest, they should be considered synonyms because they’re used so much in the same sense.
When I think of Georgia football, one of the first things that come to mind are the game-day traditions.
Everyone has a favorite tradition, as well.
Some love the Dawg Walk, and others enjoy the Battle Hymn soloist. There is a tradition for everyone.
I personally love all of them in their own way.
Growing up a Georgia fan and learning the various traditions made my passion grow stronger and appreciate what they mean even more.
Picturer this, you’re driving into the Classic City, sitting in traffic and rolling down your windows.
The crisp air hits you in the face, and you take a deep breath, and there is that game day smell. It’s the smell of crisp Autumn air with hints of guys cooking on the grill.
You see sorority and fraternity students in their best red and black attire having a blast in their front lawns as they tailgate before the game.
While most people hate traffic, this kind of traffic isn’t a burden because you’re on the way to the tailgate and ready to watch another game in Sanford Stadium.
Some can say that this very drive into Athens is a tradition and I consider it one, however, it’s what happens after this drive-in and once I park that all the rituals I admire begin.
