#5: Randy McMichael

First up on the list is Randy McMichael. He played at Georgia from 1999-2001 before he got drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 2002 NFL Draft.

McMichael was the very first tight end that I remember as a Georgia fan.

According to Sports Reference, McMichael had 90 catches for 1,213 yards, and five touchdowns during the three years at Georgia.

McMichael received All-SEC Freshman team honors along with All-Conference honors in 2000 and 2001.

He went on to play in the pros with the Dolphins, St. Louis Rams and San Diego Chargers. McMichael retired from the NFL in 2012.

While I love him at Georgia, he had a much more successful career in the NFL.

He’s on this list because he did his job on the field and made sure to help out when needed. When he caught his touchdown pass against Arkansas, I knew he would be special.

Too bad he wasn’t a year younger, or he would be the tight end to lead to the first SEC Championship since the 1980s.

He began the modern movement of talented tight ends that would come to Georgia and paved the way for the future of Dawg tight ends in the NFL and how successful they can be.

McMichael is now on the air with 92.9 the Game as one of the midday show hosts. He comes in at No. 5 on the list, and now we move onto No. 4 Orson Charles.
