Georgia football’s deepest position has to be the offensive line. Since Sam Pittman got to Athens, he’s completely transforming the culture of the Dawg’s O-line.

Recruiting has played a significant role in the recent success for Georgia football, and the guys Sam Pittman has been able to reel into Athens is without a doubt some of the best in the business.

When talking about players who have the biggest impact on offensive game plans, the most overlooked position would have to be the offensive line.

Having a good quarterback is obviously important,  but without a good OLine, the ability to run or pass the ball automatically becomes limited.

The flood of star running backs that have come through Athens has been quite insane, but that shouldn’t go without mentioning the big boys upfront who take care of all the dirty work up front.

Starring on the Dawg’s offensive line this year is junior Andrew Thomas (projected first-round pick for 2020).

More from Dawn of the Dawg

Thomas started 13 games last season at Left Tackle and landed 1st team All-SEC honors.

The 6-5 320-pound stud will look to be a major contribution to the Dawg’s offense.

Following Thomas, is another big boy by the name of Solomon Kindley.

The junior starting left guard carries around a 6-4  335-pound frame.

Kindley started all 14 games last season for the Dawgs, and ESPN recently named him as a first-team preseason All-American alongside Thomas.

Looking further down Georgia’s OLine depth chart reads the name, Isaiah Wilson.

There is no better word to describe Wilson than massive. The right tackle struts a 6-7 stature who started in all 14 games and also received team honors as the Most Improved offensive player after being redshirted his freshman season.

At some point, you would think there would be some sort of dip in the size of Georgia’s offensive line, but everywhere you look there are more 6-5 and taller guys waiting to demolish a defensive line.

Big Ben Cleveland and Cade Mays have been in a battle for the starting right guard position, and you couldn’t go wrong with either guy.

Cleveland stands at 6-6 toting around 335 pounds as a junior while Mays, the former Knoxville native, sizes up at 6-6 and 318 pounds.

As a freshman, Mays held his own in the trenches playing in 11 games and starting in seven of those which led him to earn Coaches Freshman All-SEC honors in 2018.

While on the other hand Cleveland was announced as a preseason All-SEC third team. It sounds like Coach Smart and Coach Pittman have a very tough decision to make there.

Don’t think the list ends there though because Jamaree Salyer and Trey Hill want in on the action as well!

Hill is a former high school teammate of Jake Fromm and has been announced to the Rimington Award watch list for 2019 which is given to the Nation’s top center.

At 6-4  330 pounds, Hill has the look and skill to be a solid piece to the Great Wall of Athens even just as a sophomore.

Salyer, who is also just a sophomore, despite standing at just 6-4  is still a force. The big mean D-line eating machine will throw all 325 pounds of him at you all game long.

Salyer played in 13 games last season as a reserve and will look to continue that role heading into the 2019 season.

If you haven’t noticed yet, among all of these names that have been listed, not one of them is a senior this year. Though I expect some to say goodbye to Athens and head off to the NFL, there is no need to fret at Pittman continues to be one of the best recruiters in the nation.

The dual-threat of Fromm’s passing game and D’Andre Swift’s running game are deadly enough on their own, but when paired up with this stout offensive line they become nearly unstoppable.
