The first AP-Top 25 Poll was released this week and Georgia football is in the top-5 and in the right spot heading into the 2019 season.

This week, the AP-Top 25 poll hit the interwebs and Georgia football’s sitting exactly where it should be.

According to CBS Sports article on the poll, the top 10 look like this, No. 10 Texas, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 8 Flordia, No. 7 Michigan, No. 6 LSU, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 3 Georgia, No. 2 Alabama, and No. 1 Clemson.

For the first time since the College Football Playoff began, the AP-Poll finally got a preseason top-3 correct.

Clemson deserves to be on top after taking down the Alabama monster. The Tide should be second because they were second place.

I like Georgia at No. 3 because it’s a boost of confidence that people are seeing that the culture is changing. It’s year four in the Kirby Smart era, and should be the one where we see what a Georgia football team looks like with nothing but Smart’s recruits.

There are some stragglers, but they’ve compeltely bought into Smart’s progam of doing things.

In years past, I would be worrried about the Dawgs being so high up in the poll, but in 2019, I think it’s a sign of the times.

While the Dawgs lost in the Sugar Bowl to Texas, I still believe they’re the third best team in the country. I believe that the top-10 isn’t all the way right, but the top-3 is, and that’s something I’m proud to see.

With Georgia at No. 3, they just need to take it week by week and focus on each opponent. If it were the end of the year and Georgia’s sitting at No. 3, then theres a good chane the Dawgs would be in the playoffs.

Georgia needs to look at it the same way right now. Stay in the top four and you’re in the playoffs. However, I do still think the Dawgs will have to beat Alabama to get in, regardless of where they’re ranked.
