Week 2: Georgia Bulldogs vs. Murray State Racers

Date & Time: Saturday, September 7th, 2019 @ 4:00pm

This game will be the first of two consecutive tune-up games for the Bulldogs once they see what worked and what didn’t week one versus Vanderbilt.

There’s not much to say here, except that it will be exciting to see the young guys and what they bring to the team.

I expect the starters to stay in this game for, at most, the first half before being relieved of duty by the second, and eventually, third and fourth stringers.

The Racers lost last year’s starting quarterback, Drew Anderson, and starting running back, DJ Penick, to the NFL and transfer portal, respectively.

The only leader on offense they return is wide receiver Malik Honeycutt, who caught 29 balls for 477 yards and four touchdowns.

Their defense also lost their two best players, Quincy Williams and Marquez Sanford to the NFL as well. This is a Racers team devoid of much senior leadership, and that will only help the Bulldogs more.

This game will give the Bulldogs the first chance to really throw some young players out to the wolves and see how they handle a big stage. Georgia’s got the talent on paper now they can use this week and the following to see who can come up big for the primetime matchup against Notre Dame two weeks from this game.

Georgia wins 55-6
