Georgia football doubles down on facilities, again.
Endless facility wars
Georgia football consistently ranks around number ten in the highly subjective rankings of facilities, and the preponderance of competition is from within the SEC. Alabama and Texas A&M have long maintained an advantage with massive, expensive facilities.
LSU opened a new locker room to national acclaim. Auburn, Florida and South Carolina have opened new facilities as well. Kentucky completed a 45 million dollar locker room and recruiting lounge project in 2016 and followed that up with a 120 million dollar renovation of Commonwealth Stadium.
Tennessee may have problems, but not for lack of facilities. The Vols opened a 145,000 square foot football facility and will follow that up with a whopping 340 million dollar renovation of Neyland Stadium in 2021.
This won’t be the end of the facilities war. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
But no way is it anywhere near the end
