3 things Georgia football’s offense must do against Notre Dame
By Eric Taylor
Score touchdowns in the red zone
Georgia has had 17 attempts inside its opponent’s red zone.
They have scored touchdowns on 13 of those attempts. That looks great, but it is a bit misleading. Against Vanderbilt, Georgia had just three touchdowns on six attempts. This just will not do against a more talented opponent where points could be at a premium.
The Bulldogs need their massive Oline to push people off the line of scrimmage and allow the running backs some room when inside the opponent’s five-yard line.
The offensive line average weight is around 328 pounds per guy. That is a lot of beef not to be able to score on the goal line. We need to be meaner up front when it matters.
Another thing that is costing Georgia points in the red zone are drops or inaccurate passes.
Georgia cannot afford for Jake Fromm to be inaccurate when it counts most Saturday night. The Dawgs will need the best form of Fromm in the pocket. The same goes for all of his receivers.
We need them to be entirely focused on the task at hand, not trying to make highlight one-handed grabs.
This should be an exciting game, and I believe Georgia will pull it out.
The Dawgs are a 14 point favorite, but I believe there is a chance this one gets way more out of control than that. As long as Georgia follows these three steps on offense, they should cruise to another victory.
