Wreak Havoc

Notre Dame has the No. 19 passing offense in the nation, averaging 313.5 yards per game. Georgia‘s passing defense is ranked No. 34, allowing 182.3 yards per game.

The Dawgs will have their hands full with big receivers Chase Claypool and Javon McKinley.

Georgia needs to contain the Irish’s passing attack and that starts with pressuring Ian Book. The Dawgs do have 46 pressures this year, however, 42 of those came against Murray State and Arkansas State.

The good news is that the pressure is coming from a number of places this year and not just one player like last year.

Leading the way is Tyler Clark, his six quarterback hurries are tied of the team lead with Azeez Ojulari.

There is a five-way tie between Channing Tindall, Jermaine Johnson, Nolan Smith, Clark and Ojulari for the team lead in sacks with two. All together the Bulldogs have sacked the opposing team’s quarterback 12 times.

Georgia has got to get after the quarterback early in this game and put him on the ground. Which won’t be easy because Book is very athletic.

Last time these two met the game came down to a sack that sealed the game for the Dawgs. It may be a play like that on defense that seals the game Saturday night.
