Georgia football: A call to action for Dawg nation
Georgia football takes on Notre Dame Saturday, and the team needs the fans at Sanford Stadium needs to be intimidating. Here’s what Dawg nation needs to do on Saturday to support the team.
Georgia football fans are quite divided about whether the fan base should wear red or black to the game against Notre Dame.
Instead of fighting about what color we as fans, should wear Dawg nation needs to come together.
It doesn’t matter what this team wears as long as they play well on the field. The same can be said about what the fans wear too.
While I’m all for this blackout and I support the Spike Squad, at the same time, what we fans wear isn’t what matters.
There are four things that the Dawg nation needs to accomplish on Saturday, and this is the call to action to make sure all 93,000 fans and the 200,000 fans outside the stadium knows what’s expected.
Regardless, these are the four rules of Saturday.
1: Wear Georgia
It doesn’t matter if you wear red, black, white, or whatever color you want. As long as you’re there to support the Dawgs, that’s what matters.
Wear your favorite Dawg’s jersey, red, black, or white. Georgia’s got three awesome colors. Let’s use them all.
If the fans cannot decide Sanford Stadium will look like a ladybug, and well if that’s what the Dawg fans want, then we need to make it the most intense and intimidating ladybug in existence.
2: Get to Athens and the Game Early
This weekend is likely going to be the most significant event ever to brace Athens. It’s probably going to be bigger than Panic in the Streets and when the Olympics came through.
An estimated 200,000 extra fans are coming to Athens this weekend, that won’t even be in the stadium. The university added 500 seats to the West endzone so that this game will be the biggest one ever played in Sanford Stadium.
The way to beat the crowd? Well, get to Athens early Saturday morning. If you need to take a nap, the backseat of the truck will do. Don’t be that person that cannot get into Athens because you waited too late to come.
Also, get to the game early. As I said, it’s going to be crowded. Don’t miss opening kickoff or any of the Red Coat Band’s pregame routine. Shoot come into the stadium after the Dawg Walk.
Let’s have a full stadium by kickoff.
3: Be Loud
Sanford Stadium has the potential to be one of the most intimidating places in all of college football, but it isn’t always like that.
Sometimes it’s deafening and other times it just lacks.
Come Saturday, Dawg Nation I want you to get ready to lose your voice.
When Georgia’s defense is on the field, I don’t care if it’s first, second, or third down, Dawg Nation, you need to have the stadium rocking,
There doesn’t need to be any sitting down while the defense is on the field. Come together, Dawg nation.
4: Southern Hospitality
Notre Dame fans treated Georgia fans well two years ago, and now we need to return that favor. This matchup isn’t against another SEC school looking for find something wrong with Athens, it’s Notre Dame, and well they’re as deep in traditions and class as Georgia is.
Don’t get inebriated too severely before the game so you can remember it and treat others nicely. While this is something all Georgia fans know to do, I want to remind you all politely.
Georgia’s biggest game of the year is on Saturday, and I don’t care what you wear as long as you’re there early, loud for the defense and treat the Irish fans politely.
This game is for bragging rights, to stamp the Dawgs name in the College Football Playoff and shut up the Notre Dame fans who think their team is actually a contender.
While we should all be nice to the fans, we all know this is the Irish’s funeral, and the Dawgs are officiating.
