Honorable Mentions:

Zamir White, Georgia- Despite being third on Georgia’s depth chart White still has the 15th most yards on the ground (141) in the SEC to date and has been very good when given the carries as he also ranks fourth in yards per carry (7.42) in the SEC.

White has battled through a couple of injuries in his career and it is good to see him succeeding when on the field

Brian Herrien, Georgia- Herrien has received the second most carries for the Bulldogs but has the smallest yards per carry total (YPC) on the team, but still ranks in the top 10 in the SEC for the statistic (5.76).

Herrien is also tied for second in the SEC in rushing touchdowns with three.

LaMichael Perine, Florida- Perine has not been quite as impressive as he was last year as he only ranks 21st in the SEC in rushing yards and 26th in yards per carry (just 3.53).

However, he does rank fourth in receiving yards in the SEC for running backs and is just one of four backs with a receiving touchdown in the SEC.

Scottie Phillips, Ole Miss- Phillips has been a good runner for the Rebels, amassing 308 yards on the ground (good for third in the SEC) and is tied for first in the SEC for rushing touchdowns with four.

He gains only 4.34 yards per carry on the ground (18th in SEC) but is not heavily involved in the passing game, if at all, which is why he only gets an honorable mention selection.

Kevosiey Smoke, Kentucky- Smoke is another guy that just misses the top ten due to his lack of being a receiving threat out of the backfield (in part because teammate Asim Rose is used in that role a lot).

However, he does have 251 yards on the ground at a 7.38 yards per carry rate (good for seventh and fifth in the SEC respectively), and that’s why he was the first back to just missing the top 10 list.

Just Missed: Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt; Asim Rose, Kentucky; Tavien Feaster, South Carolina; Devwah Whaley, Arkansas; Ty Chandler, Tennessee
