Georgia football is perfect on the season at 5-0 after defeating Tennessee. Now the Dawgs move onto South Carolina. Here are three guys we expect to have great performances against the Gamecocks.

Georgia football has officially entered the meat of its SEC schedule after playing Tennessee this past Saturday.

The Dawgs now prepare for South Carolina, and there is a group of players who could be looking at massive games against the Gamecocks.

Heading into the matchup, South Carolina ranks No. 54 in the nation in run defense as opposing teams are averaging 139 yards per game.

Georgia has the perfect matchup against that stat in D’Andre Swift as he averages 92 yards a game and 7.0 each time he touches the ball. So he could end up having an excellent performance this week.

Swift also found a lot of success against Tennessee through his receiving game as he racked up 72 yards on just four receptions. It wouldn’t surprise me if Georgia continued using him in the passing game as well.

He is due for a breakout performance as he hasn’t reached over 100 yards rushing since Week 1 against Vandy. South Carolina could be the perfect team for that to happen.

The next player who could have a monster day is Lawrence Cager.

Georgia fans have gotten a good look at what Cager brings to the table for the Dawgs. He has been everything that Jake Fromm could ask for in a receiver.

Cager has reeled in some highlight-worthy receptions, which has led him to rack up 197 yards on 15 receptions. He currently leads the receiving room after five games.

South Carolina currently No. 93 in passing yards allowed per game, so matching that up with Cager’s size and strength could be the perfect recipe for success.

Fromm’s ball placement ability is terrifying to a defense on its own but throw in a 6-foot-5 target for him to throw to could leave the Gamecocks secondary, waving the white flag before the end of the game.

The third and final player on the breakout watch list for this week is true-freshman Nolan Smith.

In recent years, Georgia has struggled to generate a pass rush, and Smith has been a valuable piece in rejuvenating that area of Georgia’s defense.

Smith has been quiet for the past couple of games since teams have taken notice of the talents that he posses. However, Saturday could be a day where he makes all sorts of noise in the Gamecock’s backfield.

He has given offensive lines fits as an edge rusher thanks to his ability to explode off the line and bull rush anyone in his way, so be on the lookout for his talents to shine this week.

South Carolina ranks No.94 in sacks allowed this season, and Smith could be a reason why the Gamecocks fall further down in those rankings.

Georgia has a four-game win streak against South Carolina.

The players listed above could be three reasons as to why the Dawg’s streak continues as they eyeball their 16th straight victory against an eastern division opponent.
