2012 – Christian Robinson versus Auburn

Auburn makes our list again, which should make most Georgia fans happy.

In 2012, Georgia had a tremendous season with its only regular-season blemish being a loss versus South Carolina.

The next loss for Georgia would come at the hands of Alabama in that memorable SEC Championship that saw the Bulldogs run out of time with the ball on the 5-yard line.

During the regular season, the Bulldogs had multiple games in which the defense dominated. They held Florida to 10, Ole Miss to 10, Georgia Tech to 10, and Auburn to 0.

That 38-0 win over Auburn was a dominant performance with Georgia out-gaining Auburn 497-238 in total yardage.

Part of the total domination of that game was a jaw shattering hit by Christian Robinson on Tre Mason in the third quarter.

With Georgia up 31-0, Auburn quarterback Jonathan Wallace threw a screen pass to Mason, and then the rest is history.

A roaring groan punctuated the hit from the Auburn fans that sounded like music to a Bulldog’s ears!

Most don’t remember Robinson as a head hunter, but he had a few tackles that gave us chills, especially this one. He was one of the playmakers on the 2012 squad and is to thank for this incredible hit.
