Georgia Bulldog fans love to rally around a good cause. This week Dawg Nation, we need to unite and show support for South Carolina’s quarterback, Ryan Hilinski, and his family.

Georgia Bulldog fans are some of the most considerate folks in the country. They love to help someone in need, and when they choose to get behind something, they do not disappoint.

Dawg nation has gotten behind Davon Gales, the pink-out for Arkansas State head coach’s late wife, and so many other things on Twitter.

Now I’m asking you to give some support to Ryan Hilinski and his family on Saturday. Every beginning of the third quarter until right after the first play, fans hold up the ‘okay’ sign with their fingers.

It’s what Ryan does to honor his brother, Tyler, who committed suicide in January 2018, while he was the starting quarterback for Washington State.

If you do not know the story, according to CBS Sports article on the family,  Tyler stole an AR-15 automatic rifle from his friends and then shot himself. He didn’t leave behind a note or reason why he did it, which has to be hard on this family.

The article continues to say that the No. 2 leading cause of death for Americans aged 10-34 is suicide. Since his death, his family created Hilinski’s Hope, a non-profit organization.

According to their Twitter, the organization got formed to promote awareness and education of mental health and wellness for student-athletes.

Forever to three is their message. Ryan wears No. 3 in honor of his brother, and does so much to help get this message out to the world.

Not a lot of people on this side of the country know about Hilinski’s Hope yet. With Ryan being in South Carolina, the message will start to spread. Regardless of who he plays for, it’s something in this day and age deserves the support.

Ryan earned the starting job at South Carolina after Jake Bentley went down with an injury. He will start against the Dawgs on Saturday, and when the third quarter begins, I hope and urge that all 92,754 fans raise their ‘3’s’ in support of Ryan, his family, Hilinski’s Hope, and most importantly, Tyler.

I found this organization last summer and immediately connected with it. So far, Hinski’s Hope has raised over $428,392 and has a goal of one million dollars. If interested in donating, follow this link. There are bracelets, shirts, hoodies, all kinds of merchandise if you choose to purchase.

While Saturday is about Georiga staying perfect in the SEC East, overall and getting another win, it’s also about showing support for this family. We need to impress the socks off the Hilinski family and prove to the world once again Georgia fans are the best in the world.

There are already tweets going around, people posting about it on facebook and some Dawg fans are already planning to hold up threes, but I want to challenge every Dawg fan that goes to the game on Saturday to do it.

So Dawg Nation, let’s make headlines once again, and not for whatever the outcome of this game will be, but for the selfless act of showing support for an organization and player who deserve it.
