Georgia football is back in the SEC East driver’s seat, and they want to keep that momentum going against the Missouri Tigers.

The No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs are now squarely in control of their own fate, for both the SEC and the College Football Playoff. The next step will be to take care of business at home against the Missouri Tigers.

Georgia Football: Odds and betting lines vs Missouri

The Bulldogs are coming in as double-digit favorites against the Tigers, with the spread currently sitting at 16.5 points. The over/under total is 48 points, with about 66 percent of the public money being thrown at the over. All odd courtesy of The Action Network.

Georgia showed off their championship-caliber defense against Florida last week, and while Missouri has found ways to score this season it doesn’t seem likely they’ll have any better luck than the Gators or Fighting Irish, who both possess better offensive weapons than the Tigers, and were essentially shut down by the Dawgs. Look for Georgia’s front seven to have a big day against an offensive line who has had trouble protecting the quarterback this year, giving up 2.3 sacks per game.

Missouri is solid defensively, only giving up 18.1 points per game, but like most opponents this year they’ll likely be worn down by Georgia’s massive offensive line and the pounding running backs constantly coming at them.

Georgia Football: Gameday weather forecast vs Missouri

It looks to be a perfect southern fall day in Athens for the game, with a high of only 55 degrees, but clear skies throughout the day and night. With a 7 pm kickoff, it’s likely to get chilly in Sanford Stadium as the game progresses, so some layering and hot beverages would be in order. The temp will probably dip into the 30s by the time the Krypton Fanfare is blasted out by the Redcoat Band.

Georgia Football: Injury report vs Missouri

The Dawgs are getting healthy again, and it’s the perfect time of year for that to happen. Per DawgNation.com, there are minimal worries on the injury front. WR Lawrence Cager, who is still dealing with a shoulder issue, is probable, as is WR Tyler Simmons, and DT Michael Barnett.

DB Tyson Campbell is listed as questionable for this game, while DB Tyrique McGhee and LB Channing Tindall are both doubtful.

For the Tigers, the big question has been starting quarterback Kelly Bryant and his status. Tigers head coach Barry Odom said he expects Bryant to be ready to go on Saturday, which will be an interesting matchup for Georgia. His strained hamstring may limit his mobility, which will hinder the Tigers offense a lot.

Georgia football: Jake Fromm needs to duplicate Florida game

The biggest takeaway from last week’s game was the vaunted Florida defensive line got nowhere near Jake Fromm, and given the time he needed he was able to have a career day against the Gators. The Mizzou line can be just as formidable, and the Bulldogs need to protect Fromm in the same fashion.

That said, Fromm needs to show he can continue to make good decisions and accurate throws. He missed a couple of easy ones against the Gators and had receivers Lawrence Cager and Brian Herrien save his skin on a couple of crucial passes. Limiting those poor throws against Missouri will make life easier on all the Bulldogs.

This will be another game where Fromm will need to put the team on his shoulders for a while, and then let D’Andre Swift and the other running backs finish off the Tigers.
