Georgia Bulldog fans shining again in FanSided 250

Georgia Bulldog fans, your passion for the University of Georgia has been noticed as one of the hottest and most buzz-worthy fandoms in the world.

The UGA football team may not have reached their ultimate goal in football, but Georgia Bulldog fandom is as hot as ever, once again showing up on the annual FanSided 250, which showcases the hottest and most buzz-worthy fandoms in the world.

The list uses various metrics to rank the hottest fandoms, including fan votes, social media follows and search scores.

Dawg fans came in at number 121 overall in the all-encompassing fandom list, and number nine among the colleges who were included. The number one overall fandom was Marvel, which was no big surprise given the huge popularity of the MCU this year.

While the Bulldog Nation can be proud of the recognition, you have to question why some of the other college fandoms finished above Georgia. We can live with coming in under fandoms for schools like Alabama, Notre Dame, and even LSU this year. But some of the others?

Auburn at number eight? I think any Georgia fan can tell you that Auburn’s fan base doesn’t travel anywhere near as well as Georgia’s. Perhaps most surprising is Clemson at number one among colleges. You never hear about that orange nation taking over opposing stadiums or doing great things to trend nationally, like supporting a tragedy suffered by an opposing coach.

Still, knowing that there are 129 other worldwide passionate fandoms that aren’t as hot and buzz-worthy as the Dawgs is a pretty good feeling.
