Georgia football: Experts confident in 2020 Bulldogs despite players leaving
Georgia football has the fourth best betting odds from Vegas Insider. The confidence in the 2020 Bulldogs comes in spite of Jake Fromm, D’Andre Swift and other players leaving.
Georgia football has a good chance to competing for the National Championship this upcoming season, according to vegasinsider.com.
The site gave Georgia 7/1 odds of winning the National Championship. The only team with better odds are Clemson (9/4), Ohio State (4/1) and Alabama (9/2) . Georgia’s odds are better than Florida’s (14/1) and Oklahoma (20/1).

These lofty expectations are somewhat of a surprise however. Georgia doesn’t even have a starting quarterback named. It’s assumed that Jamie Newman will take over, but he’ll have to beat out redshirt freshman Dwan Mathis and true freshman Carson Beck. Regardless of who takes the job, Jake Fromm was an 8,000-yard passer with 78 touchdowns. That’s hard to replace.
Georgia also loses running backs D’Andre Swift and Brian Herrien, three offensive linemen and two receivers including Lawrence Cager from an offense that was mostly mediocre. On defense, Georgia lost its three leaders. Tyler Clark on the defensive line, Tae Crowder in the second level and J.R. Reed in the defensive backfield.
With all the changes to Georgia’s lineup, you would think Vegas Insider would have Georgia much lower than No. 4. Yet, the site is basically saying Georgia will once again win the SEC East by putting the Dawgs ahead of Florida. And it’s also saying Georgia and Alabama will have another outstanding SEC Championship Game with a playoff spot on the line. What is it about this Georgia team that the experts are so confident in?
