The swing: Seniors taking over

Georgia is known as a team of freshmen, but there are two seniors on the squad and they played great Saturday. Jordan Harris’ 17 points were huge. Besides his first three-pointer of the game, none of his shots gave Georgia the lead, but he prevented Vanderbilt from advancing its lead.

Tyree Crump didn’t score nearly as many points, only eight, but he scored the points that mattered most. When Georgia needed a miracle, he delivered something that looked routine. Crump didn’t rush his shot or hesitate. He picked his spot to shoot, made himself vertical, and put up an accurate three-pointer at the buzzer. You couldn’t ask for anything better.

This type of performance by the seniors comes at a time where Georgia really needs it. A week ago, the season seemed lost. The Bulldogs were out of the NCAA Tournament conversation. Now, Georgia is picking up momentum with four really good opponents left on the schedule and the SEC Tournament after that.

The Bulldogs might still be in line for a tournament spot after all. If they are, the senior leadership Harris and Crump showed Saturday is to thank.
