Georgia Baseball: Dawgs looking good heading into weekend series with Georgia Tech
By Josh Stone
The No. 4 ranked Georgia baseball team has an 8-1 record as they head into the weekend series against the No. 17 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Georgia baseball team put on a clinic with a 15-1 thrashing of the Kennesaw St. Owls Tuesday night at Foley Field. Cam Shepherd and Tucker Bradley hit back-to-back blasts in the first inning and the Bulldogs never looked back.
In the third, Shepherd launched his second bomb of the night and the Dawgs added nine more runs to put the score at 12-1. Kaden Fowler got in on the offensive action with a shot of his own, homering in just his second at-bat as a Bulldog.
Georgia starting pitcher Garrett Brown hurled a gem for the Bulldogs Tuesday night. Brown threw five complete innings, giving up only three hits with one earned run, and tallied up a career high eight strikeouts.

Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate
The win improves No. 4 Georgia’s record to 8-1 as it prepares to face the No. 17 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a three-game series this weekend. The “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” rivalry series starts Friday night at Foley Field.
This marks the first year since 1959 that the series with the Yellow Jackets will be a weekend series and not a mid-week matchup. Georgia baseball Head Coach Scott Stricklin and Yellow Jacket Head Coach Danny Hall decided the series change will be better for the rivalry and the fans.
The series will open up Friday night at Foley Field with the first pitch set for 5 p.m. Saturday, the Bulldogs will travel to Russ Chandler Stadium in Atlanta for the second game of the series and close out Sunday at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers. Both Saturday’s and Sunday’s games are set to start at 2 p.m.
The Stone Cold Truth
I have to give it to Bulldog Pitcher Garrett Brown for his performance on the mound. While the Dawgs were crushing the ball offensively, Brown was racking up career-highs with five complete innings and eight strikeouts. I see you, Garrett Brown.
