Georgia basketball hosts Arkansas Saturday evening. The Bulldogs enter the game 14-14 overall and 4-11 in SEC play.
Georgia basketball can still salvage its 2019-20 season with a winning regular season record. That quests begins Saturday against Arkansas (18-10, 6-9 SEC). A late season win over a possible NCAA Tournament team would, at the very least, give the roster of 11 underclassmen more confidence going into next season. Here are three things the Bulldogs need to do to defeat Arkansas.
Play its best
Yes, It sounds obvious. Georgia playing its best should be enough to beat Arkansas. But Georgia hasn’t played its best much since SEC play began. When Georgia has played its best, its shown the potential to dominate with 20-point leads over Florida and Missouri, a 12-point lead against Alabama, wins over Auburn and Tennessee.
When Georgia has played less than its best, the Bulldogs get overwhelmed and are unable to recover. Whether its blowing those leads against the aforementioned teams or getting blown out by South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Everyone’s involvement on offense
Arkansas does not tend to score a lot of points. Despite winning 18 games, the Razorbacks have failed to score 75 points 12 times this season. Georgia has scored 75 or more 15 times this season.
Another obvious key to victory, but to outscore the Razorbacks, Georgia needs everyone involved on offense because Arkansas only allows 67.5 points per game. Anthony Edwards can’t be the only one in double figures and he’ll need more than just Rayshaun Hammonds or Sahvir Wheeler joining him.
Play loose
Georgia doesn’t have anything to lose anymore and it needs to play like it. There’s no more pressure on this team to live up to expectations, that ship sailed six losses ago.
Arkansas however, has a lot to lose. The Razorbacks’ NCAA Tournament hopes took a huge hit with a recent five-game losing streak. They can’t afford to lose too many games in these last eight days. Georgia is a dangerous team for Arkansas.
