Georgia football brought in the No. 2, No. 3, No. 13, and No. 41 offensive tackles and the No. 1 center in the 2020 recruiting cycle, but do not forget about this five-star offensive guard.

In 2018 Georgia football signed the No. 1 offensive guard in the nation, Jamaree Salyer. The 6-4 325-lb. Salyer played football for Pace Academy in Atlanta, Ga.

Since coming to Georgia, Salyer has played in 26 of 28 games. He played extensive snaps in three games in 2018 and played on the field goal unit. He played extensive snaps in five games in 2019 and played on the punt coverage unit. He has also seen time as the backup center.

Salyer also saw his first starts in 2019, at right tackle, including starting the Sugar Bowl against Baylor.

In that game, Georgia averaged 1.67 yards per carry while rushing inside on the right side. They averaged 6.17 yards per carry when rushing outside on the right side. Georgia’s offensive line also gave up two sacks against the Bears, neither of which were Salyer’s fault.

The giant from Atlanta will be taking over the void at right tackle left by Isaiah Wilson this fall. It is his position to lose at this point.

Even with all the highly ranked freshmen coming in, Salyer’s 26 games worth of experience going against SEC defensive linemen gives him a huge advantage. It is finally Salyer’s time to shine and he will make the most of it.

Georgia’s offensive line lost a lot of talent to the NFL this past offseason, but Salyer is a player that will help the Bulldog faithful to forget about those that are gone.

He is another solid player and another future first or second day pick in the NFL draft for this offensive line. Georgia fans shouldn’t sleep on Salyer and neither should any of the pass rushers in the SEC.
