The Georgia Bulldogs have suspended play following concerns with the Coronavirus. Baseball and softball may resume on April 1, basketball season ends in the SEC Tournament.

Just like that, the 2019-20 sports season is frozen. Georgia Bulldogs spring sports are delayed through March 31. However, the basketball teams end their seasons before national tournaments begin.

The NCAA decided to cancel the upcoming basketball tournaments, as well as baseball and softball tournaments on Thursday. The Southeastern Conference followed by cancelling all upcoming regular season games, freezing the Georgia baseball and Georgia softball seasons after just a month of competition. Even when play resumes, spring sports teams will not be able to compete for national titles.

The baseball team halts play with a 14-4 record and was preparing to play Florida on Friday to open SEC play. If play resumes, Georgia will restart its season with a three-game series with Texas A&M from April 3 to April 5.

The softball team freezes with a 23-5 record and 2-1 record in SEC play. The Bulldogs had a double-header with Furman scheduled for Wednesday. The Bulldogs have a one-off game with North Alabama waiting on it when play resumes on April 1 and a three-game series with Kentucky the following weekend.

Georgia basketball ends its season after defeating Ole Miss in the first round of the SEC Tournament and finish with a 16-16 record. The Bulldogs were hoping on a magical run through the tournament and a birth in the NCAA Tournament.

At the very least, Georgia was hoping for a spot in the NIT to bring some more momentum into the 2020-21 season. The Bulldogs were set to play Florida in the second round on Thursday.

Spring Georgia football and the G-Day are now in doubt also. Spring football was supposed to begin on March 17 and the G-Day Game is scheduled for April 18. No word on if the NCAA, the SEC or the schools will delay spring football yet.
