Georgia basketball: Best of the Bulldogs in the 2019-20 season
Most improved: Toumani Camara
Former four-star prospect Toumani Camara had a slow start to his freshman campaign. he began the season as a reserve player, coming off the bench for an average of 15 minutes per night in nine outings. He only scored 4.5 points and 3.3 boards per game as a reserve player.
He was thrusted into the starting role in December when head coach Tom Crean dismissed Amanze Ngumezi. Outside of games against Georgia Southern and Austin Peay, Camara struggled. Even in games where he scored a lot, he failed to become the force in the post that Georgia needed.
But, Camara kept improving and by the end of the year, he was a solid player night-in and night-out. His hard work culminated in a fantastic game against Auburn where he scored 12 points, grabbed eight boards and made three steals. He dominated the Tigers in the last-minute and Georgia might not have upset Auburn without him. Camara finished the year with 210 points and 138 rebounds.
