The baseball team, led by superstar Emerson Hancock, ends its season with a 14-4 record overall. The Bulldogs never even started SEC play. They were supposed to begin a three-game weekend series with the Florida Gators on March 13, but that series was postponed when the SEC initially froze spring competition.
The 14-4 record is the third-best in the SEC East and sixth-best in the SEC overall. Collegiate Baseball is the only site to update its rankings since the season stopped. Georgia fell to No. 10 after being swept by Georgia Southern.
The Georgia softball team ends the season with a fantastic 23-5 record overall and was able to play an SEC series before the season ended. The Bulldogs defeated South Carolina twice in a three-game weekend series from March 6 to March 8.
The Bulldogs are fourth in the SEC standings but have the third-best record overall behind Mississippi State and Florida. The Coaches Poll was the last ranking to be updated, but it doesn’t reflect the last week of competition. Georgia softball is ranked No. 14 in the Coaches Poll.
The NCAA is allowing spring sports seniors to return for an extra senior season in 2021. The NCAA is still working out the details, but the decision is a good one for the Georgia softball team. The 2020 squad had a lot of great seniors whose college careers would have ended in the worst way possible. Now, the Bulldogs possibly get an extra year with Justice Milz, Ciara Bryan, and others.
