Without spring practice Georgia football is still getting its work in. Some of the Bulldogs took to social media to show how they are staying in shape.

Spring practice is an important time for any football season. This is when the coaches start getting the players ready for the rigorous effects of a 12-to-15 game season. Georgia Football was supposed to start spring practice March 17th, but the COVID-19 pandemic caused all spring activities to be canceled. The players have been unable to practice so they have been working out on their own. Some coming up with some very creative ways to stay in shape.

These guys are not allowing a little quarantine to get them off track. They are out here still attacking every day, chopping wood, and getting ready to defend their SEC East title. They are hungry and ready to do whatever it takes to keep their edge in this downtime. They will be ready to hit the ground running this fall.

This is a great sign of the leadership on this team. It also shows that the players themselves are motivated to be the best they can be, even in the face of adversity. They have taken a “no days off” approach to this offseason and it should show up in their play come this fall. Seeing some of the younger guys step up and lead this charge is very encouraging as well.

Nolan Smith, a sophomore from IMG Academy, started all of this when he called out the defense on Twitter. It’s great to see such a young guy stepping up into a leadership role in just his second season. Check out these videos from the players and one of the coaching staff.

As you can see, the guys are feeding off each other and their coach. Iron sharpens iron and that is exactly what these guys are doing while practicing social distancing. When this quarantine is over these guys will be ready to whip their competition and show everyone that hard work really does pay off.

It is nice to see these guys pushing each other over social media to keep working, keep pushing, and keep attacking each day. This is exactly what it means to do more. Watch out SEC, Georgia football is motivated and ready to fight. It is going to be a long 15 round bout and these Bulldogs are ready to go the distance.
