The 2020 NFL Draft begins Thursday night. Which Georgia football players will become NFL rookies in the first round?
It’s NFL Draft time once again, and like most years, Georgia football has a plethora of players waiting to hear their names called. A few Bulldogs expect to hear from NFL franchises on the first night of the draft.
OT – Andrew Thomas
Georgia has two of the best offensive linemen in a draft class full of outstanding linemen. Andrew Thomas might be the best of the bunch. Since arriving in Athens in 2017, Thomas has been among the best players in the nation, earning Freshman All-American honors in 2017 and appearing on All-American teams as a sophomore and junior.
One could make the argument that Andrew Thomas is the best offensive lineman in Georgia football history, though he’ll face some stiff competition for that honor. Thomas’ hard work and dominance in college will undoubtedly pay off Thursday night when he is selected in the first round.

OT – Isaiah Wilson
Not far behind Thomas is fellow 2017 enrollee Isaiah Wilson. Though Wilson didn’t have the immediate impact Thomas had, when Wilson became a starter as a redshirt freshman in 2018, he put the nation on notice and became a Freshman All-American.
Wilson’s decision to leave school to join the NFL Draft initially shocked Georgia football fans, but as the days went by, Wilson began impressing more and more scouts. If Wilson isn’t picked Thursday, some franchise will certainly pick him early Friday night in the second round.
RB – D’Andre Swift
Possibly the best running back in the NFL Draft, D’Andre Swift is a player with superstar potential. He has great speed and the agile moves that will translate from college to the pros, but he also has some deceptive power and toughness that will endear him to any NFL team.
Any team thinking of drafting Swift is looking for a potential starter because he is a do-it-all running back. Besides the aforementioned power, speed and agility, Swift is also a great receiver out of the backfield and is a solid pass blocker. If Swift does dip out of the first round, it’ll only be because teams value other positions in this year’s draft over running back.
