Hines Ward epitomizes everything Georgia fans want to see of their favorite players in the NFL. He performed at a high level for many years and was known as one of the best people in the league both on and off the field.

His final career stats won’t reach out grab you, but that’s simply because Ward wasn’t the typical diva wide receiver. His focus was more on the team and what would be best for them. He was known throughout his career as one of the best blocking wide receivers to ever play, and his ability to make the big plays when the Steelers most needed it was legendary.

His 12,083 career receiving yards are currently 26th in league history, with his 1,000 career receptions landing 14th.

Just as he was at Georgia, Ward was used in many capacities beyond just wide receiver – taking snaps as a running back, quarterback, defensive back and kick returner during his long career with the Steelers.
