When you discuss UGA football, you have to talk about running backs, and here’s what the Bulldogs will be looking at in 2020.

UGA football fans always love two things; winning, and great running backs. Fortunately, Georgia has seen a lot of both in recent years.

In 2020, the Bulldogs will have lost yet another quality tailback to the NFL in D’Andre Swift, but Kirby Smart‘s backfield cupboard isn’t bare by any stretch.

Here’s a quick peek and some rankings at what to expect from the Bulldogs running back group for the 2020 season.

UGA football 2020 Running Backs: The Backups, Scout Team Players

Don’t let the fact that these guys haven’t yet seen a lot of playing action fool you. They can be ultimately very important to the success of the Bulldogs, just as perennial backup Brian Herrien was for so many years.

Sevaughn Clark: Redshirt freshman – A preferred walk-on who saw some mop-up duty in 2019. Could be a good role-player for the Bulldogs in 2020.

Prather Hudson: Senior – Mostly a special teams player with the Bulldogs, but does get a bone thrown his way from time to time. A true team-first guy.

Anthony Summey: Redshirt freshman – Another preferred walk-on, Summey could again be the odd man out in the Dawgs backfield. No carries or stats reported to date.

Darius Jackson: Junior – A walk-on in 2018, Jackson still has yet to carry the ball for the Bulldogs. He could possibly see some special teams action in 2020.

Garrett Jones: Redshirt Sophomore – Another 2019 walk-on who hasn’t compiled any stats. Probably scout team, special teams at best for 2020.

K.J. McCoy: Redshirt Freshman – After attending East Georgia State College, McCoy walked-on to the Georgia program and won himself a roster spot. He could be the wild card in this group. Extremely talented back who might surprise some if given the opportunity.
