Joshua Moran was the last player on the 2016 recruiting class when he signed as a preferred walk-on, and nothing has changed four years later. Moran did play extensively on the scout team and was one of Georgia’s best players in the classroom. Moran still has a year of eligibility left and he entered the transfer portal in December, but hasn’t chosen his new school yet.

When Marshall Long signed in 2016, he quickly became Georgia’s full-time punter and he had a pretty good season. 14 of his punts stayed behind the 20-yard-line and he averaged 38.7 yards on 49 punts. Not bad, especially for a freshman. Unfortunately, Long suffered a knee injury 10 weeks into the 2016 season and he never fully recovered. Long eventually retired from football after the 2018 season and he remained on scholarship at UGA.
