UGA football hasn’t shied away from competition lately. The Bulldogs are playing several power-five schools over the next 13 years.
Not counting Georgia Tech, UGA football has 18 games against eight different power-five opponents scheduled through 2033. The Bulldogs aren’t shying away from competition, which has fans wondering which school will Georgia schedule next.
Michigan Wolverines
The last time Georgia and Michigan met was in 1965. In Vince Dooley’s second year coaching UGA football, the Bulldogs traveled to Ann Arbor and upset the Wolverines 15-7. Somehow, Georgia and Michigan avoided each other for 55-plus years.
Michigan never obliged Georgia with a return trip to Athens. No bowl game has ever paired the Bulldogs and Wolverines. Georgia has played a Big 10 team in a bowl game 11 times since 1989, and somehow, Michigan wasn’t on the opposite side for any of those games.

Surely Georgia and Michigan can’t avoid each other forever, which is why I think Michigan might be one of the next team’s Georgia strikes a deal with. A neutral site game might be more likely because they’re easier to schedule, but athletic director Greg McGarity loves bringing big-time opponents to Sanford Stadium and he’s been successful at doing so lately.
USC Trojans
Georgia hasn’t played Michigan in 55 years, but it’s been even longer since the Bulldogs last played the Southern California Trojans. Georgia’s last game against USC was a 10-3 loss on the road in 1960, Wally Butts’ last season.
But, Georgia and USC are on a collision course, when they’ll collide remains to be seen. Georgia is taking on challengers from all over the country. USC isn’t known for shying away from competition either and has played several SEC schools over the last 20 years. The Trojans had home-and-home series’ against Arkansas and Auburn in the early-to-mid 2000s and will play Alabama for the second time in five years this September.
Clemson Tigers
Yes, Georgia already has plenty of games scheduled with Clemson in the upcoming years. But if you haven’t heard, the rivalry is back on. Georgia has six scheduled meetings with Clemson between 2021 and 2033, and with both schools’ desire to keep the old rivalry alive, it’s only a matter of time before Georgia and Clemson schedule another meeting or two.
