Dylan Fairchild, a four-star offensive guard from West Forsyth, recently committed to UGA football. Fairchild is the second offensive lineman in the 2021 class.

After recent NFL drafts gutted Georgia’s offensive line, the area became a focus for the 2021 recruiting class. With over eight months left before National Signing Day, UGA football already has two offensive line commits, the most recent being Dylan Fairchild from West Forsyth High School.

247Sports Composite ranks Fairchild No. 135 overall and as the No. 7 offensive guard in the nation. He’s been cruising up the rankings since its inception. On October 31, the system ranked him No. 805 and he’s climbed in the rankings four times, most recently on May 31 after committing to Georgia.

The 300-pounder chose Georgia over Alabama, Auburn and 14 other power-five schools. Fairchild said head coach Kirby Smart and new offensive line coach Matt Luke treated him like a priority. He went on to say Georgia is “heading to win a national championship” and “I want to be part of that, I don’t want to miss something special.”

In the offseason, Fairchild dominates on the wrestling mat. He won the 285-lb. state championship in February. None of his four matches at the state tournament lasted past the first round, and only one match lasted past the first minute. Fairchild’s prowess as a wrestler means power, leverage, footwork and physicality are four traits he has in spades.

Back on the football field, Fairchild moves very well pulling and running to the second level to help out the running game. Pass blocking is where his footwork really shines. The one knock against Fairchild is that his game isn’t as complete as other, higher-ranked offensive guards. But, with a year of high school ball left, he can continue working on his toolbelt.
