Zamir White is the headliner of the running back stable after D’Andre Swift and Brian Herrien’s departure from UGA football.

UGA football has one of the most talented running back stables in the SEC, and the leader of that group is redshirt sophomore Zamir White.

Finally, after two seasons and a torn ACL, “Zeus” finally gets to be the headline running back he was hyped to be when he committed to Georgia in 2017. White was the No. 9 overall player and the highest-ranked running back in the 2018 class.

White gave onlookers a glimpse of his potential as D’Andre Swift and Brian Herrien’s backup last season. He rushed for 408 yards on 78 carries in Georgia’s often stagnant offense. Almost a quarter of his rushing yards (92 on 18 carries) came in Georgia’s Sugar Bowl victory over Baylor, that game was White’s first start as a Bulldog and he performed very well. He scored his third touchdown of the season and helped the offense control the pace of the game.

The best word to describe Zamir White is tenacity. When he gets the ball, he does not want to stop running. His feet are always moving, he’s actually a more agile than he’s given credit for. He’s often billed as a power back with good speed, but he actually has great footwork, making quick moves like a spin or a light juke.

But make no mistake about it, White is a powerful running back. While he’s known as a softy off the field, he is a mean player on the field. He seems to look for defenders to run over at times. White is a football player through-and-through. He doesn’t shy away from contact, he welcomes it and seems to enjoy it.

Another year removed from his second ACL tear, the sky is the limit for White. He’s the kind of running back you want as a starter. White can really wear on a defense and make life a lot easier for his teammates, especially the other running backs in the stable.
