Sanford Stadium was at 22% capacity Saturday night to watch Georgia football, but folks are still outraged.

It seems that people are looking for any excuse to be outraged these days. The latest example of this is those that took aim at the crowd in Athens watching Georgia football take on Auburn in Sanford Stadium.

There were 20,524 fans in the stands to watch Georgia football, Sanford Stadium holds 92,746. So at 22% capacity, Georgia was well within the 20-25% capacity it had set before the season started.

However, that did not stop some from taking to social media to share their displeasure. From rival fans to media members, people lined up to take their shots at folks out on a Saturday night looking for a little normalcy in this nightmare that we call 2020. How dare they, right?

Fear mongers have to do their thing though, one would guess. Here is an example of the negativity aimed at Georgia football:

There will be no fine from the SEC as Georgia was well within the guidelines they set up before the season ever started. Why do they want to punish fans for having a good time on a Saturday night anyway? Are they really that afraid that things could actually get back to normal? Some of us would actually love it if things did.

Here is a better representation of the crowd to see Georgia football vs Auburn:

As you can see, there is plenty of space between the fans and plenty of empty rows. Each section had a group of no more than four chairs spaced six feet apart and two empty rows between them and the next row with chairs.

What most saw was bad angles from TV or some fans gathering after the game to celebrate the win. Either way, Georgia did its part to keep social distancing protocols.

It seems that some people will come after Georgia football with whatever angle it takes. If they can’t knock them down for playing poorly they will take aim at something else. Especially those in the media that wanted the college football season canceled. They are the worst ones. They can’t stand to see that they were wrong and college football is rolling right along.

Sorry Mr. and Mrs. Doom and Gloom, you can’t derail this train. There is a mean machine in red and black coming at full speed. Get off the tracks or get run over.
