Georgia football pass rusher Adam Anderson prowls for SEC quarterbacks.

There is a pack of wolves prowling around Athens, Georgia striking fear into the hearts and minds of every SEC quarterback. The leader of this pack of sack thirsty wolves is edge rusher, Adam Anderson. He has played for Georgia football the last three years and has finally transformed into the beast he was predicted to progress into.

Anderson has played almost exclusively on third down as a pass-rush specialist. He has shown himself to be quite the hunter in these limited snaps. Out of his 54 total defensive snaps, he has rushed the passer on 35 of them. He has gotten pressure on the opposing quarterback on seven of those pass-rush snaps.

According to Brent Rollins of Pro Football Focus, Anderson has a pass rush win rate of 31%, the highest rate of all Georgia football edge rushers. He has accrued two sacks, two quarterback hits, and three quarterback hurries. As a whole, Georgia football’s pass rush is sitting at No. 24 in the nation with 13 sacks through four games this season. They are No. 15 in sacks per game averaging 3.25 sacks a game.

Anderson’s hunting prowess is going to be needed if Georgia football ends up playing teams like Clemson, Ohio State, and of course, Alabama again. One of the best ways to stop an elite passing attack is to pressure the quarterback before he can distribute the ball. Expect Georgia’s wolf pack to continue to excel at this, especially with Anderson leading the hunt.

Georgia football’s wolf pack travels to Lexington, Kentucky this Saturday to take on the Wildcats. The hunt will be on at high noon and these wolves are hungry. There may be nothing left of Wildcat quarterback Joey Gatewood when Anderson and the rest of the wolves are done with him. However, you can bet the last words he is going to remember hearing will be SIC ‘EM!
