Georgia football safety is rated in the top-100 prospects in the NFL draft.

Richard LeCounte III is heading the NFL after an inspiring career for Georgia football. LeCounte who missed a big chunk of his senior season due to a traffic accident fought and clawed to get back on the field. He was able to play one last player with his Georgia brothers in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Day. One of many inspiring moments from Kirby Smart‘s first commit.

LeCounte has been a true ambassador of what it means to do things the Georgia Way. He was the first player to congratulate Eric Stokes after he caused the fumble that sealed the win against Tennessee last year. He was the very embodiment of “Keep Chopping” in 2020. LeCounte attacked every day of his rehab and that persistence paid off in the end.

LeCounte defines what it means to be a Damn Good Dawg. However, that time in his career has come to an end. LeCounte now looks to take the next step and head to the NFL. Expect LeCounte to meet that challenge head-on just as he has every challenge that he has faced at the collegiate level.

LeCounte leaves Georgia after making a total of 176 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, eight interceptions, ten pass breakups, four fumbles forced, and six fumbles recovered. He is also one of eight Georgia football player to have intercepted two passes in the same game. LeCounte has been quite the ball hawk in his time at Georgia.

If an NFL team is looking for a level-headed leader for their defense with the will to fight through adversity and a nose for the ball then LeCounte is their man. He should go to a team somewhere in the first three rounds within the first 75 picks, according to The Draft Network. They have him ranked as their number 75 prospect.
