Landing spots for Georgia football safety Richard LeCounte
By Eric Taylor
Georgia football safety Richard LeCounte could land with one of these NFL teams.
Richard LeCoute had a great career playing safety for Georgia football. LeCounte leaves Georgia after totaling 176 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, eight interceptions, ten pass breakups, four fumbles forced, and six fumbles recovered. He is now moving on to the NFL which has become more of a passing league and could really use his abilities in coverage.
He brings more to the table than just his athletic ability though. LeCounte is a vocal leader who did it the right way for Georgia football. As Kirby Smart’s first committed recruit, LeCounte showed what it truly means to be a Damn Good Dawg. He attacked every day he was on campus and it showed up every game day.
He is also a fighter as he fought for months to get back on the field after a traffic accident took him away from his teammates. He did in fact get back to playing with them as he lined up for the last play of Georgia football’s Peach Bowl win over Cincinnati. That shows how much football and being able to go to battle with his men means to him.
The Draft Network has LeCounte ranked as their number 106 prospect in April’s NFL Draft. Even though this seems a lot lower than where he should be ranked, he does have a few flaws in his game. However, they are that he has a tendency to get caught with his eyes in the backfield from time to time causing him to fall for play-action, at times he has trouble staying on his man through traffic, and he has a tendency to not be “deeper than the deepest”.
That said here are a few teams that could really use his services in 2021 and beyond.
