Georgia football lost a very talented offensive piece for the next few weeks.
Last season Georgia football didn’t get a spring practice at all. This season spring practice is back, but there is some bad news that has come with that. In Georgia’s first padded practice, their third practice of the spring, they have lost a very valuable offensive piece for the next few weeks and possibly the rest of spring practice.
Kenny McIntosh has injured his elbow in the first padded practice of the season. It is still unknown how long he will be out, but it shouldn’t be longer than the rest of spring practice, according to Jake Rowe of 247Sports. This is good news as losing McIntosh for a period that extending into the season would be a huge loss for Georgia football’s offense.

Even though McIntosh is going to be, most likely, third in line for carries he is dynamic with the ball in his hands. He does need some work when it comes to pass blocking which is where this missed time will hurt him the most. However, he should be ok to resume practicing in the fall, so hopefully, it won’t set him back too much.
Last season McIntosh rushed 47 times for 251 yards (5.34 yards per carry) and one touchdown. McIntosh’s 51.06 success rate was third on the team last year and his 55.32 broken tackle rate was the best on the team, by a lot, according to SEC Stat Cat. McIntosh also added 15 catches for 111 yards. He also gave Georgia football a boost in the return game as he averaged 36.33yards a return. However, he was taken off return duties after he injured his knee on a return against Alabama.
As you can see McIntosh most certainly is a weapon for the Georgia football team. It is a great thing that his injury isn’t worse and he should be good to go on September 4th, when Georgia takes on Clemson.
