Georgia football has added another commitment to the 2022 class.
After having two number one recruiting classes in four years, Georgia football’s 2021 recruiting class came in at number four in the nation. He is determined to get that number one spot back in 2022. With ten recruits committed in the 2022 recruiting cycle already currently sitting at number two in the nation behind Ohio State, Smart has added another four-star commitment.
Jordan James is a four-star (92.85) running back from Murfreesboro, TN. He stands 5-10 and is 205 pounds and he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.69 seconds. Last year, at Brentwood Academy, James had 1947 all-purpose yards and averaged 149.8 yards a game while scoring 27 touchdowns.
With Zamir White and James Cook both being gone in 2022 it was a must for Georgia football to pick up at least one running back in this recruiting cycle. Smart and company got that wrapped up pretty early. Even with those two leaving, James will still be competing with Kenny McIntosh, Kendall Milton, and Daijun Edwards for playing time next year.
Jake Reuse first reported the commitment on Twitter:
Georgia football has a ton of momentum in recruiting right now, hopefully, they can continue to pick up steam and nail down their third number one recruiting class in the last five cycles. Even if they don’t come in at number one they are definitely adding some great pieces for 2022. Looks like Smart is picking up right where he left off before the Pandemic hit.
The 2021 class was a good one, but it had its setbacks. Looks like all that did was set up the incredible comeback Smart and crew have put together so far in this cycle. One thing is for sure, you can’t keep Georgia recruiting down for long and if a top-five recruiting class is a setback, well, that just tells you how vastly improved this program’s recruiting has been.
