Georgia football added another commitment to its 2022 recruiting class on Monday, as that gives the Bulldogs a total of 16 pledges.

Joining the 247Sports No. 3 ranked team is 3-star offensive lineman Jacob Hood from Nashville. He plays for Hillsboro and comes in at a colossal size of 6-foot-8 and 342-pounds.

While adding him to the commitment list is huge, his size is just as big, making his pledge exciting.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Hood is the No. 39 offensive tackle and the No. 13 player in Tennessee.

With 22 offers, including ones from Auburn, Baylor, Miami, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss, to name a few.

Hood visited the Dawgs back in June and again at the end of July — which do you blame him?

The Dawgs have high expectations when it comes to their offensive linemen, and Matt Luke knows what he likes.

After Georgia offered him last October, Hood and Luke continued to develop their relationship, and evidently, the hard work the 3-star put in himself the last year really stood out.

At 6-foot-8, he reminds me of how big Isaiah Wilson and Ben Cleveland were when they came in. However, Hood isn’t overweight like they were freshmen.

His size doesn’t slow him down. After watching Hood’s film, he has great footwork, is extremely talented, and has a massive wingspan.

Hood is an athletic offensive lineman and possesses the technical skills they need to succeed in the SEC.

He is flexible and is able to explode out of his stance, which is lovely to see in someone at the high school level. He has a high ceiling beyond his towering stature and is one Luke can really develop into another NFL-caliber lineman.

Hood joins the current No. 1 ranked SEC recruiting class that includes the likes of

  • 5-star linebacker Malaki Starks
  • 4-star running back Branson Robinson
  • 4-star linebacker Jalon Walker
  • 4-star quarterback Gunner Stockton
  • 4-star defensive lineman Tyre West
  • 4-star cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew
  • 4-star linebacker C.J. Washington
  • 4-star running back Jordan James
  • 4-star wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette
  • 4-star safety JaCorey Thomas
  • 4-star defensive end Darris Smith
  • 3-star wide receiver Dillon Bell
  • 3-star wide receiver Cole Speer
  • 3-star offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs, and
  • 3-star punter Brett Thorson

This commitment is one of those times that Georgia fans should be excited about a 3-star because Hood is far better than that ranking suggests.

Even though they will re-rank the players before signing day, regardless if he ends up as a three or 4-star, this guy should excite you as a Georgia fan.

Next. Gunner Stockton’s 7 touchdowns shows bright future for Georgia Football. dark

He very well could be one of the next great offensive linemen for the Bulldogs and one that’ll outwork everyone to earn that spot. Hood has the size, ability, and work ethic, and it sounds like Georgia found a perfect fit.
