When NIL was first announced, many people were worried about how it would affect college football, concerned that it would not only disrupt the game but potentially make players more infatuated with making money than playing the game.

However, Georgia football continues to prove the doubters wrong and give back to their communities, highlighting what’s most important in life.

While several players attended the Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer’s annual charity golf tournament this summer, JT Daniels has been making headlines the last few weeks for how he has put the community and team first in all of his NIL deals. From his partnership with ESP to including team members in events and all of his deals, Daniels set the standard for NIL.

Now, other Bulldogs are joining in. Stetson Bennett IV, John Fitzpatrick, Payne Walker, Owen Condon, and John Staton IV have joined forces to create the DGD Fund, a nonprofit designed to highlight five charitable organizations picked by each player.

The players are hoping to use the new freedom with NIL to raise money for each of the organizations and use their platform to inspire other players and fans to do the same.

The Mailman will be donating his percentage of the money raised to The Boys and Girls Club of America, while Walker will be donating to Happy Feat, a local nonprofit for adults and children with disabilities. Condon chose the ALS Association in honor of his grandfather, Al Condon, who passed away from ALS.

Fitzpatrick is donating to the American Brain Tumor Association in memory of his grandmother, who passed away a few years ago from Glioblastoma. Staton will donate to Hilinski’s Hope in honor of his best friend Nick Marshall, an athlete whose life ended too soon his freshman year at UVA.

All of the money fans donate to the DGD Fund will be equally split between the chosen organizations.

Media members have already noticed as Matt Stinchcomb, Holly Rowe and David Pollack have all tweeted their excitement for the DGD Fund.
