2: Dawgs offense needs to keep explosiveness at an all-time high

Georgia fans are all too familiar with seeing the offense that is supposed to be loaded down with talent fall short of expectations.

However, the game against UAB saw an explosive offense that was able to score points at will, or so it seemed. While UAB wasn’t an SEC opponent, they were a formidable opponent that the Dawgs couldn’t take lightly.

When these two teams played in Athens, South Carolina defeated the Dawgs 20-17 in two overtimes. That loss stung for the Dawgs, and something like that cannot happen again on Saturday.

Even if Georgia improves the rushing game, that does not mean they have abandoned the pass — especially the long passes.

The more Georgia runs the ball, and the more they run it well, the more South Carolina will play close to the line of scrimmage.

No matter who Kirby Smart and Todd Monken have in at quarterback, they must take advantage of whatever the South Carolina defense gives them.

Against UAB, three of Stetson Bennett’s touchdown passes were for 73, 89 and 61 yards.  While those numbers won’t happen every single week, they help give the offense a ton of momentum.

Being able to rush aggressively and still hit big plays in the passing game will make Georgia an absolute nightmare not just for South Carolina defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson but for other teams preparing for Georgia in the future.
