The venerable Larry Munson would have turned 99 this week. With such a big matchup looming, Georgia fans can imagine his customary pessimism probably would be at an all-time high heading into Saturday’s game with Arkansas Between The Hedges.

One thing that may have turned some of his instinctual doubts into delight is the play of true freshman tight end Brock Bowers.

Bowers was a one-man shipwrecking crew against Vanderbilt, posting two touchdowns in the first quarter against the Dores, one rushing and one receiving.

For good measure, he added one more receiving touchdown in the third quarter, and finished the day with four catches for 69 yards and two scores to go along with one run for 12 yards and a touchdown.

Bowers three-touchdown day earned him SEC Freshman of the Week honors.

On the season, the California kid leads all Georgia receivers in receptions (18), yards (272) and touchdowns (4).

His performance in Nashville was worthy of a mic drop, so Brock takes home the mic sticker.
