Georgia football fans, ESPN finally got a guest picker right for a Dawgs game.

College GameDay announced this morning that former Georgia golfer and recent winning member of Team USA at the Ryder Cup Harris English would be the guest picker for the Dawgs and Hawgs showdown.

Not to brag, but I  feel like the producers at ESPN read our guest picker suggestion article and made the best choice possible. I  gave them plenty of options, but deep down, English was who I  wanted on that stage with Lee Corso the most.

English loves Georgia football, has a great relationship with head coach Kirby Smart and is a die-heart Dawg fan. If yall loved seeing Bubba Watson a few years back on the show, you’d love English even more.

He has a southern boy personality, but I’m willing to be he will have his homework done, and his picks will be off the chain. Then they dropped the video of the entire team USA talking about their teams finishing it with English made my heart soar.

English has had quite the year on the PGA Tour, as he has two official wins and three total if you include the QBE Shootout win with Matt Kuchar.

He also has eight top-10 finishes on the year and was part of the 19-point scoring US Ryder Cup team that won by the largest point margin since they installed this modern point system.

Finally, ESPN got it right, and it’s beyond exciting to see someone who deserves this moment to shine on GameDay. As a kid who grew up in Georgia loving the Dawgs, we have to assume this is a bucket list item for English.

dark. Next. Georgia football continues to change its College GameDay history

Georgia has a great representative joining the College GameDay crew, and I  have a feeling he will make the Dawgs proud. It won’t surprise me if English becomes an instant favorite guest picker and someone people talk about for a while.

I hope he has something fun up his sleeve to match Corso’s energy.
