Georgia Football: Dawgs in the NFL at the quarter mark
By James Kehm
Nick Chubb is not flashy, but he is one of the best back in the NFL. He is Mr. Consistent, averaging 90.5 yards per game, 5.2 yards per attempt and 3 touchdowns, all while playing about 50% of the offensive snaps. If you average this out over the course of the season, Chubb would have 1,538 and 12 touchdowns.
He seems to be forgotten a lot because he plays in Cleveland, but without Chubb the Cleveland offense does not go. He is the steadying force that drives the team.
He and Kareem Hunt form a formidable 1-2 punch in the backfield that most likely is the best tandem in football.
And simply put, you could easily make the argument, based on his steady production, that Nick Chubb is one of the top three backs in the NFL. He is perfectly fine with the talk and accolades going to his flashier teammates because as he said, when you play well, you “don’t gotta advertise.”
