During SEC Nation, host Laura Rutledge asked the other crew members if Georgia football met Alabama on a neutral field today who would win, and Paul Finebaum made a shocking prediction.

Usually, Finebaum is known for his love of Alabama football and doesn’t go against them.

Well, Finebaum felt a bit frisky Saturday morning in front of Georgia and Florida fans as he said the Dawgs would beat Alabama if they met on a neutral field right now. He closed the show out with a plane flying over, presenting his pick of the Dawgs to beat the Gators.

Most of the crew felt like Georgia would beat Alabama if they met today because of how solid the Dawgs have looked all season. Tim Tebow and Jordan Rodgers duked it out a bit about how the quarterback situation would be a deciding factor. They both questioned if the Dawgs had the offensive capability to hang 40 on the Tide.

Not Finebaum though, he was adamant that the Dawgs would beat Alabama.

That statement still has us a bit stunned, but Finebaum has been showing the Dawgs love all year. He has argued for Jordan Davis to be in contention for the Heisman Trophy and has really praised the Dawgs for their success.

Yes, this statement could be considered rat poison, but at the same time, Dawg fans have wanted the media to give their team credit for the last five seasons.

Georgia football is finally getting predicted to do incredible things. While it’s a bit intimidating because of all the years of being let down at some point in the season, so far, it’s been magical seeing this year play out.

Finebaum has been around a long time and can see the characteristics of a championship football team, so the Dawgs must have some or all of those characteristics for him to pick them over his precious Alabama.

It’s time to let the “rat poison” notion go because all this love is long overdue and something Georgia deserves. Head coach Kirby Smart has his guys focused, so it doesn’t matter whatever the outside noise says. They won’t be happy until they achieve their goal.
