Georgia football has one of the most elite defenses in the entire country, but we knew that already. Each week another offense gets their hopes up that they would be the team to find success against them.

Kentucky and Florida were the two who did find some success, but the Dawgs held them both to under their season averages.

Still, Georgia held them to 13 and seven points.

The Dawgs are No.1 in all four major defensive stat categories in the SEC, scoring defense giving up 6.6 points,  75.63 yards on the ground, 151 yards passing, and 226.6 total yards.

All Georgia football’s defense needs to do is their job because Missouri isn’t on the same level.

If we look at Missouri’s offense and how they rank among the rest of the SEC, they have the No. 6 scoring offense, averaging 34.8 points a game. The Tigers are No.9 with 174.5 rushing yards and No. 4 in passing offense averaging 279.5 yards. Overall they average No.6 in total offense with 454 yards a game.

While usually there are three keys that the defense will need to do to win, this week the Dawgs just need to do one thing — suffocate them. Well, they just need to keep doing what they’ve done all year, and that includes enforcing their will on Missouri and stifling that offense until it has nothing left.

Georgia’s defense needs to come into this game kind of like they did with Arkansas. The 12th Dawg needs to be there early and loud. Missouri has the capabilities to put up offensive numbers, but this defense is far too powerful.

Yes, Georgia needs to stop the run, but it’s also a good opportunity to shut down the passing attack and work on that unit. With them still being the youngest out there, there are always things to improve. Missouri loves to throw the ball, so the secondary needs to be ready to force some turnovers.

The Dawgs need to do their job, and that is suffocating this offense so badly they quit. They need to be demoralized because if the Dawgs want to make history, the fewer the points they give up, the better.

Georgia has dealt with two teams that can have some success on them, and now it’s time to exert some dominance again. The Dawgs cannot slip up, get complacent or slow down because the rest of the college football world is waiting for them to fail.

Instead, they need to go out there, punch Missouri on the mouth and then keep restricted until the game ends, and it’s time to start working on the next opponent.

Georgia football will finish with greatest scoring defense in a decade. dark. Next

Georgia needs to shut out Missouri and make them remember what it is like to play the No.1 overall and No.1 in the SEC. The motto will be no remorse, no letting up, and win at all costs. Who cares if they are the worst team in the SEC right now? Finish them and move on to the next opponent.
